My original mindset was to only focus on my schoolwork, because that would reap the most tangible rewards. But I soon realized that this way of thinking was not sustainable. Medical Assisting Program at Receives Accreditation

 

The demand for medical assistants in Hawaiʻi is growing and Kauaʻi Community College’s effort to meet that demand has garnered national recognition and respect. According to the University of Hawaiʻi Community Colleges’ Hawaiʻi Industry Sectors website, medical assisting jobs are projected to rise to 3,500 in 2027 from 3,169 in 2017. The newly accredited medical assisting program at Kauaʻi Community College will help to fill those jobs.

My friends describe me as ambitious, and I think that’s pretty accurate. When I applied to go to KCC I knew exactly what I wanted to do. My dream was to become a business owner of a Filipino restaurant. Of course, that meant that I wanted to get my degree in business administration.

I fell in love with carpentry when I started working with my family in my junior year of high school. We did side jobs together and from then on, I wanted to be a carpenter.
