Nursing Articulation - 4 Year Transfer

For ADN Graduates from UH Consortium

Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in nursing program for associate degree in nursing (ADN) graduates is a statewide continuing consortium nursing curriculum available to UH students from Maui College, Kaua‘i Community College, and Kapi‘olani Community College. The program is designed to provide an efficient bridge to the baccalaureate for the associate degree graduate. The program builds upon initial nursing preparation with coursework to enhance professional development, prepare for a broader scope of practice, and provide an increased understanding of the cultural, economic, and social issues that affect the delivery of safe, quality patient care.

Students from Maui College and Kaua‘i Community College enter the program in the fall (August). Students from Kapi‘olani Community College enter the program in the Spring (January) and Fall (August). Students take courses via the Hawaii Interactive Television Service (HITS) while balancing work and family responsibilities. With the Bachelor of Science degree, the student is prepared to proceed to graduate education and pursue career development.

The Bachelor of Science degree prepares beginning-level generalist professional nurses to deliver care to individuals in a variety of health-care settings, meet the state requirements for eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), and obtain a sound basis for graduate study in nursing.
