Aloha Kaua‘i Community College Students,
We hope this message finds both you and your families well. During these unprecedented times, we have been preparing for a safe, quality educational experience for our students. Our focus on safety has required important changes. We are grateful for your patience and understanding during this time.
The campus has updated most courses/programs to either online or hybrid (a combination of online and in-person). Classes can have synchronous components, which means you would meet online or in-person on set days and times. Or, classes can contain asynchronous components with no set meeting days or times.
The shift to online or hybrid classes allows us to offer some in-person meeting time while following health and safety requirements, such as 6-foot social distancing.
Please check your Class schedule regularly in STAR as we approach the start of Spring classes. Some important items for your attention:
- Contact your instructor(s) before classes start, so that you are prepared for a successful fall semester. Instructor contact information can be found on the Kaua‘i CC Directory website.
- We have resources available to help you such as checking out a Chromebook or seeking financial assistance available on our Student Affairs website.
- Military/Veterans Benefits - Classes labeled C19 have been converted to online instruction due to COVID-19 and will not negatively impact military and veteran benefits.
- Face coverings:
- All students are required to wear face coverings onsite when interacting in-person with others.
- Students are expected to wear face coverings when indoors (e.g., classrooms, laboratories, shops, and common spaces such as hallways and elevators) and where physical distancing is not possible.
Please check back for updates and send any COVID questions to kaureach@hawaii.edu or visit the COVID-19 Resource website.
E mālama pono,
Your Team at Kaua‘i CC
