wage Chart for Nursing Aide

Nurse Aide is an entry-level occupation into the healthcare industry. It can lead to other healthcare related careers. Completion of a Nurse Aide course is a program admission requirement for the Medical Assisting Program

The Nurse Aide Certificate of Completion has one prerequisite. Your COMPASS score must qualify you for ENG 100x.

In order to participate in the Nursing Aide program required clinical activities all students must have an active healthcare provider CPR certification(BLS).

You may take a CPR class in the community, though your employer or take one offered on campus through the campus wellness center. Please contact the campus wellness center for available dates and times. Submit your health care provider CPR card to the campus wellness center before the first day of class.

Background Check

Nurse Aide students must complete and pass the facility required background check prior to the first day of class. This requirement must be met to complete the offsite clinical portion of the course.

Malpractice Insurance

Nurse aide program students must carry malpractice insurance. All students must submit payment for malpractice insurance to the business office before the first day of class.

Health clearances must be completed before the first day of class.  You may receive your vaccinations and  TB testing clearance from your private physician or the Department of Health.
Please submit all required documentation to the Campus Wellness Center . These include: 

  1. Proof of Immunizations
  2. TB clearance 

Required Immunizations:


Chicken Pox (Varicella Zoster)
Please provide the following Documents:

  • Medical record documentation of disease (or)
  • Varivax vaccinations (or)
  • Positive blood test (Titer) for Varicella Zoster

Measles (Rubeola) 
Please provide the following Documents:

  • Medical record documentation of disease (or)
  • MMR/Rubeola vaccinations (or)
  • Positive blood test (Titer) for Rubeola

German Measles (Rubella)
Please provide the following Documents:

  • Medical record documentation of disease (or)
  • MMR/Rubella vaccinations (or)
  • Positive blood test (Titer) for Rubella. If Titer test is negative, documentation of 1 subsequent MMR is required.

Hepatitis B
Please provide the following Documents:

  • Medical record documentation of disease (or)
  • Documentation of completed vaccination series (3 vaccines) (or)
  • Positive blood test (Titer) for Hepatitis B. If titer is negative, documentation of 2 subsequent Hepatitis B series is required (or) Medical record documentation of contraindication from a health care provider must be provided

Influenza Seasonal Vaccination
Please provide the following Documents:

  • Current season vaccination (or)
  • Signed declaration form (or)
  • Medical record documentation of contraindication from a health care provider must be provided
